Upgrading to GLOBODOX v10

This instructions are only for upgrading your existing installation of GLOBODOX. Please read this article and make sure you have all the files that are necessary for the upgrade. 

Before you proceed make sure...
  1. Check your maintenance subscription period. Click here to instructions to find this out
  2. Backup the GLOBODOX database. Click here for instructions to backup the DB.
  3. Download the new v10 Registration key on the desktop. 
  4. Download the update setup of version 10. 
Check if you are using an MS Access DB, MYSQL DB or MS SQL DB. Click here for instructions to find this out. 

If you are using MS Access DB then please contact support@globodox.com for instructions to upgrade. If you are using MYSQL Server DB or MS SQL Server DB you can proceed with the upgrade.


Instructions to upgrade your existing GLOBODOX installation to version 10

  1.     Make sure no one is using GLOBODOX on any machines when installing the update.
  2.     First upgrade the GLOBODOX Server installation and then the client installation.
  3.     Double click the update setup to run it.
  4.     Now follow the onscreen instructions to upgrade to version 10.
  5.     Once the setup finishes, start GLOBODOX.
  6.     When prompted provide the path to the new registration key. Please note that this key will have .gxlc2 extension.
  7.     Login as the superadmin user.

Once you have upgraded the server machine successfully, you can proceed with the upgrade on the Client machines by following the above steps. Please note you will have to download and apply the registration key on the client machines as well.
